Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who we are

Żjara ("we", "us") operates a booking marketplace connecting customers in Malta with independent professionals ("providers"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we collect

Customers: name, phone number, and (optionally) email address when booking or creating an account.

Providers: name, email, phone, business category and specialty, locality, pricing, a pinned business location, and any logo or photos you choose to upload.

We do not collect payment card details — Żjara does not process payments.

3. Why we collect it

To let customers find and book appointments with providers, to let providers manage their availability and bookings, to send booking confirmations and cancellation notices by email, and to operate account login.

4. Who we share it with

We use the following processors to run the service, each of which may store your data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Resend — sending booking and account emails.
  • Mapbox — displaying maps and turning addresses into coordinates.

A provider only sees a customer's name, phone, and (if given) email for their own bookings. We never sell personal data.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and booking data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Most of this you can do yourself from your dashboard or account page; for anything else, contact us using the details below.
